My background
- Dana Muro is the founder and main designer of Dana Muro Designs, a New Jersey based interior design business. Dana specializes in cultivating spaces to reflect each homeowner's unique taste, interest, and needs. Dana has a flare for mixing textures and color to create a space that looks well-designed and loved. She has a love of color and pattern and is not afraid to push norms to create a beautiful and unique space that caters to each of her clients.
- Dana is a Jersey girl through and through. Born and raised in northern Jersey, Dana went to college at Rider University in Lawrenceville where she had a dual major in Fine Art and Elementary Education. She went on to become an art teacher in the public school system and enjoyed teaching and inspiring children from kindergarten to 8th grade for 9 years. She took a 10 year break to raise her 3 children. In 2023 she decided to take a leap and fulfill a dream of becoming an interior designer and starting her own business.
- Growing up, Dana always had a love of the arts and creating. Being so close to the city, Dana was blessed to have parents who took her often to enjoy museum afternoons or a matinee at the theater. This exposure to the arts was the beginning stepping stone of building her sense of style. Throughout the years with education, experiences, and travel, Dana started to hone in her skills for design.
- Combining her skills as a teacher and her background in the fine arts, Dana helps educate each client through the design process and the choices that are made along the way. As a busy mother of three, she is aware of how function is key to creating a smoother life and creates designs that will not only be aesthetically pleasing but also functioning for the families she is designing for.
- Beautiful but livable and functional spaces are achievable at Dana Muro Designs
